John Concannon is a native of county Galway and is one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs transforming JFC from humble beginnings in 1987 to the global plastics company it is today.
An early sign of his innovative streak was evident when he designed the Multi-Bucket Calf Feeder which was famously featured on Ireland’s highest rated television programme, The Late Late Show in 1987. John identified a niche in the market for a range of plastic agricultural products that could support farmers work more effectively.
While JFC began life developing products for the agricultural market it later progressed into manufacturing plastic products for a number of other sectors namely Civils, Equine, Marine and Material Handling.
More recently John Concannon has become known for his charity work. An appearance on RTE’s “The Secret Millionaire” has raised John’s profile as a philanthropist with the programme viewed by nearly 700,000 people. John’s generosity benefited “Pieta House” a centre for suicide prevention greatly in terms of both financial support and exposure.
A strong believer in companies having social responsibility John is still heavily involved with this charity which now has a newly established Pieta House facility located in Tuam serving the west of Ireland.
The story of how JFC has grown from humble beginnings to its present international status is a reflection of the hard work and determination of John, and the Team at JFC.
At JFC we are proud to employ over 200 of the industry’s most enthusiastic and dedicated individuals. We are all passionate about what we do, from our moulding technicians to the board of directors.
The company also has sales and manufacturing facilities in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Poland.
