After‑Sales Service Technician (NZ)

Purpose of Position

We are seeking a driven and technically skilled individual to join our team as an After‑Sales Service Technician based in New Zealand.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our dealer network across New Zealand and Australia, ensuring they deliver world‑class aftersales service to end users.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert mechanical and technical support to dealers across New Zealand and Australia, ensuring optimal product performance
  • Maintain strong dealer relationships, addressing issues quickly and ensuring after‑sales processes are followed to the highest standard.
  • Strengthening relationships with dealers through hands‑on technical support, clear communication, and expert training
  • Manage and track parts inventory, advise dealers on minimum stock requirements, and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Coordinate ordering, stock control, and timely dispatch of essential components.
  • Assess warranty eligibility and work closely with accounts to ensure accurate processing of claims.
  • Hold dealers accountable for timely responses to customer inquiries and callouts.
  • Conduct weekly check‑ins with dealers, identifying recurring issues, offering solutions, and providing detailed feedback internally.
  • Report field issues and machine performance updates to JFC Ireland, supporting continuous improvement and product development.
  • Carry essential parts in a service van and provide emergency weekend support when freight delays or urgent needs arise.
  • Organise and deliver annual technical training and refresher courses for new and existing dealers.
  • Train new dealers in installation, setup, and best‑practice machine operation.
  • Support the sales team and offer advice with shed planning and layout. and calf comfort during off‑season periods.
  • Remain available during peak seasons — including weekends — to assist with urgent dealer or customer calls.
  • Ensure all work meets health and safety regulations and complies with company procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong mechanical background with the ability to diagnose and solve complex technical issues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a commitment to delivering high service standards
  • Agricultural Understanding: Familiarity with calf health, feeding systems, and farm operations.
  • Organisation: Excellent ability to manage parts, inventory, and scheduling.
  • Experience with modern milking equipment etc would be an advantage.
  • Communication: Confident communicator capable of building strong relationships with dealers and internal teams.
  • Independence: Self‑starter with the ability to prioritise tasks and perform under pressure.
  • Training Experience: Ability to deliver clear technical training and support.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel regularly, with flexibility for weekend availability during peak periods.
