Head of Sales

Purpose of Position

As a member of the Senior management team this role plays an integral part in our growth trajectory towards achieving our Vision.  Reporting to the Business Development Director the candidate will lead multidisciplinary Sales Teams and be responsible for developing Sales Strategies and plans for our Construction, Agri and Material Handling business units across multiple territories.  They will grow our market leading positions and establish new growth platforms by enhancing our Sales Processes, selecting the right People, Tools, and Resources.

This role is based in Tuam, Co. Galway and will require travel.

Key duties and Responsibilities

  • People engagement and incentive strategies: demonstrate inspiring Sales Leadership by mentoring, supporting and motivating Sales Managers. Performance management objective setting and reviews.  Managing Sales Team issues, recruitment and people training/development.
  • Implement and refine the Sales Strategy. Route-to-Market analysis, optimisation, and consolidation.
  • Sales Analysis, Forecasting, Budgeting, Planning and Performance Reporting.
  • Sales Operations and Customer Service: enhance Sales Processes and KPI’s. CRM optimisation including Pipeline Management.
  • Key Account Management including Contract/Tender negotiations.
  • Pricing Strategy for sustainable margin growth.
  • Provide Customer Feedback/Insights and Market Trends. Competitor Analysis.
  • Business Development: increase Vitality and New Products Sales by acquiring new Customers, Products and territories. Identify, launch, and commercialise New Products and
  • Attend Trade Exhibitions, Conferences, and Industry events.
  • Brand Development: Value Proposition Marketing collateral development.  Lead Generation Campaigns: including Product Promotions.
  • Seek opportunities for Awards, Accreditation and PR.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate completion and submission of all Expense reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all Policies and Procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5 years+ international (preferably omni-channel) Sales Management experience. Ability to understand and draft Sales Strategies, translate them into structured systems, and ensure execution and business impact.
  • 7 years+ Sales/Marketing experience with a proven record of Sales performance. Online Sales experience advantageous.
  • Results orientated mindset with the ambition and drive to deliver against defined metrics.
  • Degree in Business or equivalent.
  • Experience and network in the Construction and/or Agri markets is advantageous.
  • People Leadership, Coaching and Conflict Resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Multi-languages (Germany, French) advantageous.
  • Advanced Negotiation and Decision-Making skills. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Financial literacy.
  • IT fluency: experience with CRM and sales enhancement tools.
  • Project management skills.
